"IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT...TAKE A STAND"
I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: your works are wonderful; I know that full well (Psalm 139:14)
Mission Statement: The New England Conference Young People’s and Children’s Division of the Women’s Missionary Society believes that regardless of age, gender or creed no one deserves to be abused. We believe that everyone deserves safe and healthy relationships and should never be a victim of bullying, teen-aged dating violence, and/or domestic violence. By promoting self-love through the use of workshops, literature, and social media we will show individuals that they are fearfully and wonderfully made by God and it is never their fault when others try to abuse them regardless of the reason and the importance of taking a stand and speak up about the abuse.
In all cases abusers controller and manipulate to make you feel as if you were the one with the problem. Now is the time to stand up, speak up, and take back your life because you are not the blame.
It is not your fault…take a stand” encompasses all forms of abuse.
BULLYING - Unwanted, aggressive behavior normally found among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance and is repeated over time. Bullying can be verbal, physical, or cyber.
TEEN DATING VIOLENCE - Physical, sexual, psychological, or emotional violence within a dating relationship
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE - Repeated aggressive behavior in an intimate relationship - can be physical aggression or assault
Many people feel ashamed or are afraid their family, friends, and/or authorities will not believe them if they speak up about being abused. If the first person you tell doesn't believe you don't stop there, tell someone else so you can get help.
Always remember there is no excuse for abuse. Nothing you do gives anyone the right to abuse you. If you don't feel comfortable speaking to a family or friend there are hotlines you can call to get help.
